| | June 14: Philosophy | | | | I got a bit carried away yesterday evening in discussing existence - all I meant to do was give a general idea on some of the contents of the thesis. As I have already mentioned, I did not mean to concentrate on ethics - I first wanted to lay some solid epistemic foundations: To fully understand what it means to understand. This led me to the philosophy of language, and analytic philosophy in particular. I found that some of the most prominent contemporary philosophers openly admitted their (our!) ignorance as to the meaning of commonly used terms such as understanding, meaning and truth. | | | | | | | |
