| | HAL Goes Public | | Savyon, Israel -- April 21, 2002 - Artificial Intelligence Research
(http://www.a-i.com) today unveiled its "Virtual Child" technology, also known as "HAL". This technology enables users to create a virtual personality by training it to speak in natural language.
HAL is now available online and accessible by the general public. He can be reached through ALAN, the chatbot featured on the Ai site, by asking him to speak with HAL. Registered users are also given the choice to save the HAL personality they trained, and load it again at a later stage to resume the training process.
The current state of HAL's brain is equivalent to the lingual capabilities demonstrated by normal 18 months old infants. The training input and HAL personalities trained by registered users are expected to contribute significantly towards the next stage of HAL's evolution.
