|  | Artificial Intelligence, based in Israel, is working on a computer that learns human language as a child does. The techno-baby has the verbal skills of an 18-month-old, and the firm hopes its brainchild will be ready for kindergarten in five years. Once the technology is there, says the firm, there will be many applications. It is already developing a natural language interface for desktop computers to replace endless dialogue boxes.
